<div class> <p><br/> 　　周小平 <br/> <br/> 　　Introduction of Dr. Zhou’s group<br/> <br/> 　　Email: hgx2002@hnu.net.cn <br/> <br/> 　　Fax: 86-731-8821017<br/> <br/> 　　Dr. Zhou has earned two Ph. Ds. ,one from University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) (2000) and the other from Xiamen University (1993). He had even worked at Symyx Technologies Inc. (USA) as scientist and GRT Inc. (USA) as principal scientist and scientific consultant. He has been working in very broad areas. Most of his efforts are tacking the world tough issues in chemical industry, which includes chemical process engineering, catalysis, and combinatorial chemistry. In his previous research, he has authored more than 70 papers (SCI+Ei+ISTP earned more than 60), applied more than 50 patents, and obtained 45 patents (6 WO patents,15 US patents, 7 EP patents ,11 other foreign patents and 6 Chinese patents). He had even been associate professor of Chemistry at Xiamen University (1995-1996), and is currently the dean and professor of Chemical Engineering Department at Hunan University from 2002.<br/> <br/> 　　Research areas in XPZ group<br/> <br/> 　　The research in Dr. Zhou’s group is currently includes the following several aeras:<br/> <br/> 　　a. Combinatorial chemistry:In our current research, we are trying to apply combinatorial methodologies to our work. The major efforts in this area are to develop new material synthesis methods and combinatorial characterization methods.<br/> <br/> 　　b. New Energy, Utilization of carbon resources by green chemistry:In this area, we are developing novel processes to convert components in nature gas to liquid chemicals by nonsynthesis gas chemistry.<br/> <br/> 　　c. Advanced oxidation:In this area, our goal is to design novel advanced oxidation processes to work on new reactions.
