YichuangSunreceivedtheBScandMScdegreesfromDalianMaritimeUniversity,Chinain1982and1985,respectively,andthePhDdegreefromtheUniversityofYork,UKin1996,allinCommunicationsandElectronicsEngineering.In1985,hejoinedDalianMaritimeUniversityandwaspromotedtoAssociateProfessorinearly1990.Heheldanindustry-sponsoredpostdoctoralresearchpostattheUniversityofYorkduringthe1995-1996academicyear.HethenjoinedtheUniversityofHertfordshire,UKinlate1996,becameReaderin1997,andwaspromotedtoProfessorinearly2001.Hisresearchinterestsareincontinuous-timeintegratedactivefilters;analogueandmixed-signalcircuits;testanddiagnosisofintegratedcircuits;RFcommunicationcircuitsandtransceivers;space-timeandMIMOcommunications;UWBradiocommunicationsandnetworks;wirelessandmobilecommunications.Hehaspublishedover170journalandconferencepapersintheseareasandseveralchaptersineditedbooks.Hehasalsopublishedthreebooks:Continuous-timeActiveFilterDesign(CRCPress,USA,1999),DesignofHigh-frequencyIntegratedAnalogueFilters(IEE,UK,2002)andWirelessCommunicationCircuitsandSystems(IEE,2004)andisnowworkingonafourthbookentitledTestandDiagnosisofAnalogueandMixed-signalIntegratedCircuits,tobepublishedbyIEE.ProfessorSunhasbeenGuestEditorofthreespecialissuesforIEEProceedings:Circuits,DevicesandSystemsandiscurrentlyGuestEditorofanotherspecialissueonspace-timecodedMIMOwirelessandmobilecommunicationstobepublishedinIEEProceedings:Communications.Hehasbeen/isontheTechnicalProgrammeCommitteeofmanyIEEEandIASTEDinternationalconferences.HeisaSeriesEditoroftheCircuits,DevicesandSystemsBookSeriesofIEEandservesonseveralTechnicalCommitteesofIEEECircuitsandSystemsSociety,IEEECommunicationsSociety,andIEEEUKRISection.Hehasreceivedanumberofhonours,prizesandawardsfortheexcellenceofhisresearchandteaching.
