外语学院简介:1994年招收第一届二年制外贸英语专科学生,1995年起,外贸英语专业的学制由二年改为三年,1997年获准招收第一届外贸日语三年制专科生,2003年起全部招收本科生。2005年6月我院本科英语获准学士学位授予资格。2006年6月我院本科日语获准学士学位授予资格。目前在校本科生1377人,其中英语本科在校生726人,日语本科在校生651人。截止2009年9月底,已毕业学生2766人,外语专业是杉达的特色专业,学校聘请了优秀教师执教,“从严治学,从实育人,从质施教”,取得了良好的教学效果。历年专业英语八级平均通过率超过全国平均水平15-20个百分点,历年专业日语八级平均通过率超过全国平均水平3-9个百分点。2009年英语专业就业率为96.5%,日语专业就业率为97.5%,我院毕业生的就业前景十分乐观。外语学院下设大学英语部、英语系和日语系三个部门,现有专任教师67名,其中教授4名,副教授10(13)名,讲师35(33)名。教师中有博士4(2)名,其余基本为硕士。有26位教师曾留学美国、加拿大、澳大利亚、日本等国。另有外教18名。1994theSchoolofForeignLanguageswasofficiallyapprovedofforadmittingtwo-yearEnglishmajorsandthenextyeartheprogramwasextendedtoathree-yearone.In1997theSchoolwasaccreditedtoenrollthree-yearcollegestudentsmajoringinJapanese.In2003theSchoolstartedtoofferfour-yearundergraduateprograms.InJune2005theEnglishDepartmentoftheSchoolwascertifiedtoconfertheBachelor’sdegreehenceforth.InJunethenextyeartheDepartmentofJapanesereceivedthesameauthorization.CurrentlythestudentpopulationoftheSchoolis1377innumber,amongwhich726areEnglishmajorsand651areJapanesemajors.Bytheendof2009,therewillhavebeenatotalof2766graduates.ForeignlanguagesprogramsareoneofSanda’sspecialties.Theuniversityhasemployedqualityteachersandadheredtotheprinciplesofrigorousnessinacademicstudies,substantialityofcurriculaandhighqualityofteaching.InthepastfewyearstheaveragepassingrateforTEM-8hasbeen15to20percentabovethenationalaverageandthatforNSS-8hasbeen3to9percentabovethenationalaverage.In200996.5%oftheEnglishmajorsand97.5%oftheJapanesemajorsprovedsuccessfulinjobhunting.TheSchooliscomposedofthreedivisions:theDepartmentofEnglish,theDepartmentofJapaneseandtheDepartmentofEnglishforNon-majors.Currentlythereare67full-timefacultymembers,amongwhom4arefullprofessors,10areassociateprofessorsand35arelecturers.4ofthemholddoctoraldegreesandalltheothersholdmaster’sdegrees.26ofthemhavestudiedintheU.S.Canada,Australia,Japanandsomeotherforeigncountries.Inaddition,therearecurrently18foreignteachersworkingwiththeSchool.
